January 7, 2011 was the first Japanese Classic Car meet of the new year, and it was our first time in attendance. It was a great turn out, there were many beautiful classic cars to see. We were told there are usually larger turn outs too. We were also flattered at the attention we got for our 2jz powered Celica.
We enjoyed the meet and plan to attend next month - and most likely we'll be rolling with some more cars from JER. The Old School Datsun crew rolled up thrice with some nice rides.
The Datsun 1200 was very inspiring, personally a great car to look at. This one pictured had a nice clean stance. Another sweet car to look at was the Datsun 510 with a Ka-T tucked clean under the carbon fiber front end, it can be seen in our full album.
There were also some nice Rx-7s, other Mazdas and Toyotas as well.
This Toyota Sunny was also very clean and taken care of. It was a little far - we thought it would be nice if the meet was a little more concentrated instead of so spread out. It was fun walking around seeing all the different cars, from the Japanese Nostalgics to the Euro classic VW's and even some modern machines like this LED'd Nismo 350z.
All in all it was a great experience, that surpassed our expectations. If you're into classics we recommend you coming out, weather it's to share yours or check out the rest. It seemed everyone was very approachable and there was some great conversations floating around. Hope to see you there next time- every first Friday of the month.
